Portion of Rogers Road to be temporarily closed for transmission work

Includes detours for residential property access

LONGMONT, Colorado – Platte River Power Authority (Platte River), the wholesale electricity and transmission provider for the City of Longmont, is leading a transmission improvement project located in southwest Longmont along Rogers Road to enhance the reliability of the electric system. For the safety of the public and construction crews, a portion of Rogers Road will be closed while the work is being completed. An update will be provided once the project is complete.

WHAT: Platte River is performing work to upgrade the underground transmission facilities that deliver electricity to customers located in southwest Longmont. The work will require the use of large excavation equipment, craning equipment and construction vehicles. Construction vehicle traffic will be present throughout the duration of the project.

WHEN: Monday, Jan. 8 through approximately Monday, Jan. 29, 2024. Crews will be working Monday through Saturday.

WHERE: The construction site and road closure will be located west of South Flat Circle along Rogers Road. While local traffic will be allowed to use Rogers Road to access their residences, some residents may only be able to access their homes from Hover Street or Airport Road, depending on where the residence is located east or west of the work area.
