Platte River Power Authority's commitment to service goes beyond supplying reliable, environmentally responsible and financially sustainable energy and services. Platte River strives to enhance the quality of life in its owner communities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland through limited financial support to local 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and associated events.
Primary consideration will be given to organizations whose work aligns with the strategic initiatives of Platte River and to organizations that support and address needs related to children and youth, hunger and homelessness, or the environment. Contributions to national organizations must benefit a local chapter.
For example, Platte River will consider support for:
- Environmental enhancements or clean-up projects
- K-12 noncarbon energy resource programs
- STEM curriculum support
- General community support (e.g., food/clothing drives, at-risk youth programs, etc.)
Recipients are asked to provide copies of materials (e.g., display ads, signage, event programs, plaques, etc.) that recognize Platte River for its support and will be expected to report on the use and effectiveness of the contribution.
