Save money and time by twisting out that old light bulb and twisting in a new compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL). You are able to buy CFLs at your local hardware, do-it-yourself, discount, and lighting design stores. CFLs are a bargain when you consider the energy savings they provide. Do the twist with us!
Lighting with a Twist is a partnership between Platte River, its member communities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland, Colorado, ENERGY STAR®, and the participating retailers.
Visit your utility's Web site (click on link below) for more information, local events and participating retailers. Discounted CFLs vary from store to store. Look for Lighting With a Twist labels, while supplies last.

Where to Recycle Your CFL When It Burns Out
Platte River Power Authority is proud to partner with local retailers in offering free, and safe, CFL recycling to the residents of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland. CFLs contain a small amount of mercury and should be disposed of properly.

What To Do If Your CFL Breaks
1. Gently sweep up pieces
2. Put into a sealable plastic bag
3. Take to an approved disposal site
Add Up Your Savings
To save energy costs, find the bulbs with the light output you need and then choose the one with the lowest wattage. Light output and wattage are listed on all ENERGY STAR® qualified CFL packages.
