(1) Clipper Liberty I prototype wind turbine built in 2005 by Clipper Windpower, located in southern California. The turbine has four generators that are nameplate rated at 654 kW for a total capacity of 2.5 M. Go to the turbine specifications page for additional details about the turbine. Clipper Windpower leases the turbine site from Platte River which also purchases 100% of Liberty I's generation.
(2) Phases II - III of Platte River's additions to its Medicine Bow Wind Project site. These Vestas-American V47-660 wind turbines were constructed in October/November 1999 and 2000. Each one generates 660 kW of energy.
(3) Phase I was the first phase where Platte River added turbines to the site. Phase I included two, V42-600 turbines constructed in April 1998. Each turbine generates 600 kW of energy.
(4) Meterological tower that was installed as part of the original site in the early 1980s. The tower is now utilized by Platte River for data gathering at the site.
